Covid-19

South Australia is one of the safest places to be in Australia, with no new cases for some weeks now (May 24, 2020) and no currently active cases. However this can change quickly and so we have changed our cleaning and booking protocols so guests can feel confident that they can stay here safely.

Our cleaners now follow the Covid-safe Cleaning Protocol set out by the Australian Government and available here and here. This protocol pays particular attention to all surfaces- particularly those that are frequently touched and indicates products suitable for anti-viral cleaning. Our booking protocol ensures a period of at least 24 hours between stays.

There are no active cases of Covid 19 on Kangaroo Island currently (May 2020). However should that change and in the unlikely event that a Covid-positive guests stays at Island Chalet, we will implement an enhanced cleaning protocol suggested by the Australian Government Department of Health. The Chalet will remain empty until the there is no possibility of any virus remaining on surfaces.
